ELIZABETHAN STYLE SHOOT

I've been quite busy with modelling recently, with rehearsals for Leeds Fashion Show, doing their promo shoot alongside being approached for some very exciting ad campaigns I've found it hard to get a minute to myself. So when I was asked to model for a photoshoot with Emily Bailey & Liza Mooney MUA my reaction was...hell yeah! I can't turn down opportunities to work with such talented creatives and so jumped at the chance! (I'll have that hot bubble bath and girly film another night.) ;)

Centered around the Elizabethan period, with a baroque inspiration, the look was very much a recreation of our royal highness Elizabeth I. Pale powdery skin, dishevelled powdery hair and dark lips. Clothing supplied by Love Child complimented the concept perfectly. Corsets and bustle skirts embodied the feel of power and regality.
I managed to get some behind the scenes shots of hair and makeup, plus a first edit at the bottom. Be sure to like my page to see the full shoot! www.facebook.com/kirstybuttlemodelling

Blouse House!

I love working for Mint Velvet, although it's so hard not to buy EVERYTHING! The fabrics feel gorgeous, and the prints are very on trend. We encourage our ladies to layer our pieces to create effortless yet glamorous looks.

I've picked out some of my favourite blouses from the new transitional AW collection. A collaboration of lightweight chiffon, smart collars and pretty prints make them very easy to wear.

TESSA PRINT BLOUSE

The 'Tessa' print blouse is one I fell in love with. I have it as part of my uniform and get so many compliments from customers! It's light and the sleeves can be rolled up to make the look more relaxed. I can't figure out whether the print is feathers or ducks, but either way I love my new purchase! The button detail on the back is beautiful and really makes it look expensive.
£59.00

IVY PRINT BLOUSE
It was love at first sight with all the girls in MV when we saw the ivy print blouse. Again the lightweight fabric is perfect for the summer sun we've been having, but layer a white jersey underneath for when it gets chilly.
£69.00

PLEAT BACK BLOUSES

Coming in black, and in stone & ivory; the detailing on the back of this shirt is effortless luxury. Wear with skinnies & heels for a glamorous night look, or layer a chunky jumper over, leaving the pleats to hang at the back for an edgy day time look.
Both £59.00

PIA PRINT BLOUSE
Animal print never goes out of style, and so the pia print blouse brings it through to Autumn with this easy and flattering style. Looks great with black leggings!
£69.00

 KAYLIE PRINT BLOUSE

Monochrome is going to be huge for the AW13 season, and the Kaylie blouse does it right. A quirky print combining the black and white for a different take on monochrome. Wear with black trousers and heels for a super chic look!
£69.00

So as you can see, we all find it super hard to find just a few things to wear for work. There's so much to love! Make sure to check out www.mintvelvet.co.uk for constant updates and additions to the new AW13 transitional collection.

I'll keep you posted with more things I love.

Couture Hats Photoshoot

Yesterday's location was amazing! A old style theatre where we shot couture hats made by the millinery students at Leeds College of Art.

How awesome was the hair and make-up?! I felt like a 1920's woman, filming on a set with luxurious dresses and show stopping hats, but with mad, quirky make-up to act as a contrast. Shooting 10 hats meant it was a long day. But from the behind the scenes pictures I think it looks pretty good, I'll be posting the final, edited images on my Facebook page when I get them. Keep a look out over the next week or so to see them! (www.facebook.com/kirstybuttlemodelling)
